🧠  Mental Wellness

More people are talking about it. That's a good thing.

Initial mental health assessment, supportive listening, and referral pathways to appropriate specialists — Dr. Martin recognises that mental and physical health are connected, and that struggling shouldn't mean suffering alone.

More people in Grenada are talking about anxiety, stress, and depression than ever before. That's a good thing — it means fewer people are suffering quietly. Dr. Martin's practice is a place where those conversations can start, without judgment and without clinical distance.

Starting the conversation

A lot of patients come in for something physical — headaches, fatigue, difficulty sleeping — and it turns out stress or anxiety is part of the picture. Dr. Martin asks about mental wellbeing as part of a complete health assessment. You don't have to bring it up first.

Assessment and support

If you're struggling — with your mood, your sleep, your ability to function day-to-day — the first step is talking to a doctor who will actually listen. Dr. Martin will take time to understand what's going on before making any recommendations. There's no checklist approach here.

Referral pathways

When counselling, therapy, or psychiatric input is the right next step, Dr. Martin will connect you with the right person. He knows the available mental health resources in Grenada, and he'll help you navigate them — including what to expect and how to get the most from a referral.

A note on stigma

Mental health care still carries stigma in many Caribbean communities. Dr. Martin is aware of this and will not make you feel categorised or reduced by a diagnosis. Your mental health is health — full stop.
